We at Signature Bail Bonds wish you a very happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for being a valued customer. We look forward to providing you outstanding bail bond services in the future.
Thanksgiving Day is understood to be hectic for bail bonds companies. The primary reason behind this is that family reunions take place on this day and they talk about their loved ones, especially those in jail. Then, they pool their resources and visit a bail bondsman to bail them out.
This scenario, however, has changed after the approval of Prop 47 by voters as a lesser number of people now need to be bailed out of jail. The new law converted a whole list of crimes into misdemeanors. This has resulted in a drop of business for the bail bonds companies significantly.
However, bail bond companies see a silver lining in that it provided law enforcement agencies to utilize the services of the bail bond industry that comes at no cost to the taxpayers. Another thing that lends weight to this argument is that law enforcement doesn’t have the capability or adequate manpower for apprehending those who have missed court dates and are also not out on a bond.
The statistics are quite telling: in the example of Sacramento County, less than 4 percent of those who have warrants against them for missing court dates are actually out on bail. Also, bail bond companies argue that lowering of the bail amount to more than the implementation of Prop 47 would have helped reduce overcrowding in jails.
